Collagen protein cookie dough balls
These collagen protein balls have the taste and texture of raw cookie dough but rather than being high in carbs and sugar they are instead high in protein and low in carbs – perfect if you follow a keto or low carb diet. Collagen is a liver tonic in Chinese medicine – great for supporting and healing the connective tissue of the body, the tendons and ligaments and the gut.
I recommend Nutra-organics collagen body. It has no taste but great health benefits. The peanut butter I used for this recipe is Mayvers protein peanut butter. This peanut butter provides a higher source of protein (32%) due to the addition of peanut flour.
I made these collagen protein balls with no coating. Use hemp seeds, cocao or coconut for a different texture, taste, or to fit your macros.
This recipe makes 18 teaspoon size balls.
1/3 cup vanilla protein powder (Vital protein pea protein)
1/3 cup collagen powder (Nutra-organics collagen body)
1/3 cup peanut butter (Mayvers high protein peanut butter)
1 teaspoon cocao
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons water
Add powders in a bowl and mix with a silicone spatula, add 1 tablespoon of water at a time until the mixture comes together. Roll into teaspoon size balls using hands and refrigerate.
