Find your Joy
Self care will look different for every individual, we are all unique. Where is your pathway leading you?
How do you find joy, relax and find balance – even in chaos? Personally I really like the KISS principle – keep it simple stupid. When things are complicated, challenging or overwhelming bring things back to simplicity.
Ask yourself these questions;
- What makes you happy/laugh?
- When do you feel joy?
- When do you feel content?
- What motivates you?
- What inspires you?
- What are your core values – and also what are your anti values?
Be in the moment
Imagine yourself at peace, a time when you were content and calm. You felt this way because you were appreciating the moment.
As soon as you honor the present moment all unhappiness and struggle resolve and life begins to flow with joy and ease.
Today is the only day that exists.
Letting go of attachments
Do not torment yourself afresh with the memory of what has passed. When disappointments or setbacks occur, learn to view them as events that will redirect you to something good. This creates a positive shift in your attitude and your view of the future.
What you resist – persists
It is neither wealth splendor, occupation or the ego, but tranquility that gives happiness.
The enemies of a peaceful life are the mind, ego, impressions, senses, cravings, likes, dislikes, lust, jealousy, greed, pride and hypocrisy.
Make time for yourself
When you are free of time you are free of constraints and limitations and focus only on the now.
- What are you passionate about?
Create balance in your life; balance serious vs. play
Are you ingrained to believe that to be successful you must be busy?
Doing nothing is doing something.
- What is success for you?
Hard on self
-Put yourself first instead of last, don’t become a martyr in the quest of perfection
-Need to accept and let go of emotions
-Let go of the seriousness of life, nurture your inner child
-Loosen rigid expectations
-Remind yourself that you are worthy, that you are good enough; love yourself unconditionally
Instead of saying I can’t, say – I can. Turn a negative thought into a positive one. Note any negative thoughts, even if they are just momentary and shift them to a positive affirmation.
e.g. I feel tired today ; I feel alive and energized today
You can achieve all that you desire and you KNOW this.
Maintaining a positive attitude, no matter what your circumstances, increases the likelihood of you finding future happiness and fulfillment. Spending all your time creating a vision of an unhappy future helps you to create that future. Invest your time in positive thoughts. Your thoughts guide your decisions. Nothing is solved by visualizing the worst outcome, but much can be accomplished when you desire and intend to achieve the best possible results.
You can’t be troubled and grateful at the same time.
- What are you grateful for?
Your intentions and desires shape your future. When you create affirmations about what you desire, and stop visualizing what you fear, your goals are far more likely to manifest themselves.
I have everything I need right now
My positive thoughts are capable of creating anything.
Everything I do is productive and successful.
I feel calm and in control
I feel grounded and at peace
