Shura Ford is a practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine. She enjoys the full diversity of general practice and helping people develop and maintain mental and physical health. Shura has over seventeen years experience working in private practice.
Shura has a particular interest in supporting pregnant clients with clients with fertility issues. She also enjoys helping clients manage stress and working with patients with musculoskeletal injuries. One of her great passions is teaching clients to live a balanced life and to use food as medicine.
Away from clinic Shura loves spending time in nature, particularly at the beach and in the garden. She enjoys yoga, surfing, spin classes, photography and writing. Shura writes a regular column for Nature and Health magazine and also contributes to various health and wellness publications.
Shura studied at Victoria University in Melbourne from 1997-2000, graduating with honours from the degree Bachelor of Health Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture in 2000. Shura completed a certificate of advanced clinical practice in acupuncture during an internship at the affiliated Shenyang Hospital in Liaoning China in 2000. In 2002 she completed an advanced diploma in Traditional Chinese herbal medicine in Melbourne at the Southern School of Natural Medicine.
Shura has been a member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA) for twenty years and is an Australian health practitioner regulation agency (AHPRA) registered acupuncturist and herbalist.
Shura consults in Torquay on Tuesdays and Fridays, in Essendon two afternoons per month and at Newtown Natural Fertility and Womens Health in Geelong on Monday’s and alternate Saturdays.
